Yellowstone "Super Volcano" sits on top of three overlapping calderas. (USGS)
The loosely defined term 'supervolcano' has been used to describe volcanic fields that produce exceptionally big volcanic eruptions. Thus defined, the Yellowstone Supervolcano is the volcanic field which produced the latest three supereruptions from the Yellowstone hotspot.

The Volcanic explosion of Krakatau in 1883.
The 1883 eruption of Krakatoa began in May 1883 culminating with the destruction of Krakatoa in August 1883. Minor seismic activity continued to be reported until February 1884, though reports after October 1883 were later dismissed by Rogier Verbeek's (a Dutch geologist and nature scientist) investigation.
